Title: July 7 - King's Landing
Post by: psdunn on July 07, 2012, 10:40:28 PM
At mid-morning, 5 intrepid couples set out from Moncton in their Corvettes under threatening skies, unsure what the weather might bring for the trip to King's Landing historical village about 30 km west of Fredericton.  As we traveled to Fredericton, the sky got brighter and brighter until, by the time we stopped for lunch, it was sunny and quite hot.  We were joined at our lunch stop by local club members Ron and Anne Gould.  After lunch, we drove on to King's Landing and spent a couple of enjoyable and informative hours at the park under sunny, hot conditions.  Much of the trip home was on secondary roads with tops down with a few stops along the way at farmer's markets and, of course, the mandatory stop for ice cream!  As we approached Salisbury, the skies turned dark and we pulled over to weather proof the cars, shortly after which we drove through a brief but severe downpour.  All in all, while there weren't many of us, it was a very successful and enjoyable day of cruising.
