The Greater Moncton Corvette Club and the Nova Scotia Corvette Club gathered together at the Big Stop Restaurant in Aulac, NB and convoyed from that location to the Northumberland Strait and made the 14 km crossing on the Confederation Bridge to Gateway Village in Borden, PEI where we met up with members from all the other Maritime Corvette clubs.  By the time we left Gateway at 10:00 am, the caravan numbered 51 cars in total and the weather could not have been better for our tour of "The Picture Province".  We drove through beautiful countryside until our lunch stop at the Chez Yvonne Restaurant in Cavendish where we overwhelmed them with the size of our group but the cooking and serving staff were up to the challenge and we were all treated to a fine lunch in short order.  After lunch, we departed for a stop at St. Peter's Landing at the head of St. Peter's Bay and despite a missed turn that split the group in two, everyone made it in time to enjoy the view and an ice cream cone on a warm day.  From here we travelled to Charlottetown to check into our motels and clean up the cars before a barbecue dinner provided by the PEI club and a Chinese auction to raise funds for their charity, the local spina bifida foundation.  Good food and good times were had by all.
On Sunday the show and shine was held at the Action Car and Truck Accessory location on the Trans Canada Highway, a new location that resulted in a large crowd of people stopping in to enjoy all the fine Corvettes on display.  When the prizes were awarded, GMCC had a number of winners - Don MacAulay won Best in C1 Class and Sponsor's Choice with his yellow 1960 convertible.  In the C3 Class the winners were AndrĂ© Richard and Linda Blaquiere with their yellow coupe.  The C6 class was won by Roger and Leontine Boudreau with their 2007 Indy Pace Car convertible and the Judges Choice award went to the 2013 60th Anniversary Grand Sport owned by Doug MacDonald and driven by Paul Dunn.
Following the awards presentation, many went for a final dinner at Sam's Restaurant in Cornwall while the rest took off straight for the Confederation Bridge and home.  Many thanks to Basil Hambly and the entire PEI Club for the hospitality and a great weekend.
