Title: Sept 3, 2017 - Grand Lake Picnic
Post by: psdunn on September 03, 2017, 07:05:37 PM
Eight Corvettes left Moncton on a bright sunny day headed for a picnic in Princess Park on the shore of Grand Lake.  Our route took us along secondary roads through beautiful, rolling countryside; for much of the way, the road used to be the main highway before the new four lane route was completed.  Two members from Fredericton joined us along the way so there were 10 cars in total when we stopped for our picnic lunch.  Sadly, there was one casualty along the way when a squirrel threw itself under the wheels of my car despite my best efforts to avoid it and paid the ultimate price.  Much as I hate to kill an animal, I guess if it has to happen, this would be my choice of victim because of the minimal chance of damage to the vehicle.

Our lunch was very pleasant on the shore of the lake and I heard no complaints about the food, not surprising since everybody packed their own!  Our return trip took us through the villages of Minto and Chipman where we made our mandatory ice cream stop and then on to Moncton along the TCH.
