A day trip to the Pettimor Alpaca Farm and several historical sites in the area.
8:00 AM Leave from McDonalds, Magnetic Hill and travel north on Route 126.
8:45 – 9:00 Arrive at Pettimor Family Alpacas (Jan & Bart Petley)
9:00 – 11:00 Tour the farm, meet the Alpacas and their babies, as well as miniature donkeys and horses, chickens, and geese
Presentation on Alpacas and the use of their 'fiber' (fleece).
Some time to shop for handmade hats, mitts, scarves and other treasures using felted alpaca fiber.
11:00 Leave from Pettimor Farm
11:30 Arrive at Chez Freda, Motel de Chez-Nous, Rogersville, for lunch
Following lunch, we will visit a few historic sites around the area: the lookout for Beaubears Island, the Trappiste monastery in Rogersville and the Middle Island Irish Historical Park off Chatham. These sites can be found through an internet search if you would like to get additional information before our visit.
