Event Calendar / PEI Tour

The PEI Corvette Club Tour will be similar in nature to last year, There will be a one day tour around part of PEI, with a stop at some type of attraction in the afternoon and an evening meal. No car show.  Meet at Confed Bridge 10 am.

Meeting opened with President Marc Melanson welcoming all present.
Minutes of November meeting on site and sent by email prior to meeting, there being no reported errors or omissions moved by Roger and seconded by Rick they be accepted, all in favor, motion carried.
Treasurers Report:  Provided by Treasurer Tom Osler, who expressed frustration over once again not receiving statement from the bank.  With cheques for 2024 being sent in the amounts of $400 to CCCC, $100 to Sports Hall of Fame and $75 to NAACCC opening balance of XXXX.  With receipt of Christmas Party funds in the amount of $1735, calendar and memberships balance on hand XXXXX.  Motion by Tom to accept, seconded by Debbie, all in favor, motion carried.  Expenses $96 to Angela for turkeys purchased for Sue Stultz turkey drive.  Donations to our charities for Christmas Party and calendar sales $2927 cheque to be issued for each.  ( Calendar sales to date $4120 for 206 calendars sold)
Leaving balance to start 2024 of XXXX.
Motion by Angela that we donate $265 to Pepere Boite a Lunch, seconded by Ray, all in favor, motion carried.
Bills for Payment:  Helen for ink and paper $44.71 and $5.70 for over expenditure for Christmas Party.  Motion by Helen, seconded by Teri, all in favor, motion carried, Helen to receive payment.
Membership Update:  Teri Osler advised we have 32 paid for 2024.
Old Business : 1) Helen presented report on Christmas Party, 61 dinners purchased including club paying for bartender, 60 guests attended, with tremendous support of our sponsors and members providing items for auction we raised $1040 with silent auction and another $695 through live auction for a total of $1735 to be split between Autism Resource Centre and IWK.  Guests danced to music provided by Rick.  With door prizes and spot dance prizes everyone participated and had a great time.  Thanks to Marc who paid the hall rental of $100.  Expenses, detailed list with notes, overspent by $5.70.
Marc advised hall booked for Nov 23, 2024 with Chef willing to cater and hall capacity of 120.
2) Election of Officers:  President and Vice President vacant.  Dave MacPherson volunteered to take on the role of President and Debbie Legge agreed to Vice President, they will be supported in their roles by both Marc and Roger.  Members were thrilled with their decisions.  Both will receive their membership dues back.
New Business: Marc provided update on his discussions with Royal Bank regarding non-profit account.  7.00 fee per month for account, no charge for etransfers inbound, cash deposits $2.50 for $1000 at ATM, bank card would be issued to allow Treasurer to bank in Bouctouche, 25 cheques to be issued free of charge, electronic statements issued to our email free of charge.  $1.50 fee for each etransfer sent.  He will need minutes of 2 previous meetings to open the account as bank requires list of officers.
Motion by Roger seconded by Dave that Marc open the nonprofit account at the Royal Bank.  Club will have 2 accounts until all cheques written are cleared then make arrangements to have remaining funds transferred to new account.  All in favor, motion carried.
Teri will send out email to members if more information obtained.
Discussion regarding those paying membership by Paypal which is costing the club.  Decision those paying by Paypal they will be advised the dues are $33 to allow for the cost of the transaction.
Tom thanked Marc for his work as President for 2023 year.
Next meeting Mar 4, 2024.  Dave asked members to consider collecting die cast cars for Speed Sport East 2024.  Meeting will prepare for this event.
Gary asked members for their comments regarding the governments decision to include ethanol in all gas starting 2024 and what the effect would be on older cars.  Discussion ensued.

Minutes of last meeting posted on web site and sent prior to meeting, there being no reported errors or omissions, moved by Dave and seconded by Roger Bourgeois to accept, all in favor, minutes accepted.
Treasurers Report:  Provided by Tom Osler, credits nil, debits - bank charges $3.46, cheque 282 Train Museum $100, cheque 285 IWK $200 total debits $303.46.  Balance XXXX.  Outstanding cheque 286 Camp Triumph $325, Roger Bourgeois advised Angie would send to them.  Note deposits to be made this week in the amount of $692.50, which included cheque Roger Bourgeois had picked up from Lounsbury in the amount of $600 for registration to Speed Sport 2023, Tom advised he had made numerous attempts to deposit however issue with staff and hours of operation at our financial institution.  Tom made motion to accept seconded by Debbie, all in favor, motion carried.
Discussion regarding changing financial institution, with result that Marc would contact Royal Bank and bring information to Dec meeting.
Bills for Payment:  Roger Bourgeois $23.54 for postage and hot dogs for summer party, paid out of petty cash.  Helen requested $300 for Christmas Party bills to date $79 and change and she will purchase items for door prizes and spot dances.  Excess funds to be returned after the party, as this had been previously offered motion not required, cheque to be issued at end of meeting.
Old Business:  1) Roger Bourgeois provided recap of ACCC meeting held Oct 21 at Lounsbury's meeting Room.  Full notes are in minutes binder.  Of note events for 2024, Speed Sport East in April, Bar Harbour May 30 – June 2, Lounsbury Car Show June 8, Atlantic Nationals July 3-7, Yarmouth Maritime Meet July 19-20 with Registration starting Jan 17, Bathurst Weekend Sept 20-21, Saint John Moon Glow Car Show and Poker Run Sept 27-28, not definite if it will be held again yet.
Registration is out for Bar Harbour and book early, under ACCC, Atlantic Canada Corvette Club, we are hoping to have a large representation.  We are going as Canadians and a T-shirt may be produced for the occasion, some ACCC decals for cars are left but not many.
2)  Roger Bourgeois thanked Trueman and Margaret for all the organization, planning and leading the Lobster Run, our last run of the season, it was a bit wet and cool in the morning, cleared in the afternoon, well attended.  Gas card drawn this evening, Marc picked Roger and Angie as winners.
New Business: 1) Helen provided update on plans for our Christmas Party Nov 25 at Father Patrice LeBlanc Centre 91 Murphy Ave Moncton, NB time for doors to open to be provided in coming days, supper 6:30 pm full turkey dinner with coffee, tea, dessert, buffet style served by our Chef.  Cost $32 per person, which must be paid in advance, 44 attendees so far and those who have not sent etransfer or paid in cash will be contacted this week, deadline to advise attendance will be Nov 15, an email will be sent again by Teri this week, there is no dress theme, no exchange of gifts, a new take on how our silent auction will be conducted, already we have items donated by Ann Perry, Tom and Teri, GMCC - $25 gas card, Renee and Darin, Lounsbury's swag box with numerous items, MacDonald Corvettes,  Bob Richard 2 wash buckets, Trueman Copp, Dave and Kim, and Evelyne. Folks will get to dance to music provided by Rick and there will be door prizes and spot dance prizes. Many have volunteered to help with set up, greeting at the door, taking registrations for 2024 and silent auction and anything else that is needed, much appreciated.
2)  Election of Officers President and Vice President Vacant no one volunteered, Secretary – Helen has agreed to continue with conditions, Treasurer – Tom, Events, Web Page – Rick, Correspondence, registrations, and emails – Teri.
In light of the vacant positions, Roger Bourgeois is proposing the meeting in Dec be held as usual, he and Marc to chair, there will be no meetings in Jan and Feb and meeting to be held in March if someone steps up to take President and/or Vice President, if not then someone to coordinate and take on organizing Speed Sport in April.  Try one more time to sell remaining calendars at Christmas Party and if someone wants one mailed to add $5.00 to the $20.00 charge.  At the December meeting divide and send the calendar money to our charities and other money raised from Christmas party.  Please submit all bills for payment at this meeting. Decide money to be spent on other charities, as in the past.  Have motion to pay dues to CCCC, Maritime Sports Hall of Fame and NAACCC when bills received.
Helen's condition to have meetings scheduled for holiday Mondays to be changed to another date reviewed.  Motion by Roger Bourgeois and seconded by Teri that the holiday meeting be changed to Tuesday of that week, will be reflected in minutes and date sent prior to meeting, highlighted to avoid calls to Angie or Roger on when the meeting is, all in favor, motion carried.
Regardless there will be no meetings in Jan or Feb.
Note our club has 150 cars registered that is potentially 300 people that could step up to take on the position of President and Vice President, Roger Bourgeois and Marc Melanson are still going to be around to help with guidance and answer questions.  People have busy work lives and get burnt out from being called on year after year.  For the success of this club please reconsider your decisions to not volunteer for executive positions.

Meeting called to order by President Marc.
Minutes of last meeting to be corrected per Dave's request to show C8 to C3 for Don's run to Alpaca Farm.  Motion made by Rick seconded by Scott to accept with correction, all in favor, motion carried.
Treasurers Report:  Provided by Treasurer, Tom.  Credits - 50/50 of $22, Sale of Calendars $600, Membership dues $240 Total $862.  Debits - Bank Charges $4.58, Petty Cash $100 Total $104.58. Outstanding cheques - Train Museum $100, Camp Triumph $325, IWK $200 for Total of $625.  Balance XXXX.  There being no questions, moved by Roger and seconded by Margaret to accept report, all in favor, motion carried.

Old Business:  Past Events 1) Sept 17 St Antoine car show, although club had other engagements, reports were that lots of cars attended.
2)  Bathurst weekend Sept 22 – 24, Harvest Fest, a great success with 75 corvettes attending, club participants went there from different directions at different times.  Supper Friday night at 13 Barrels Microbrewery, Evelyne and her crew made sure everyone had lots of food and many prizes were given away.  Saturday the Corvette car show was at 13 Barrels parking lot with lots of parking.  Main street had lots of other cars participating in the weekend.  Hotel was within walking distance from everything which was great.  Met lots of new members for the club from the area.  After the show we were escorted by City Police to Lounsbury's in Bathurst for group photo, then on to Petit Rocher Warf for other photos.  Saturday supper was another microbrewery, Bootlegger.  Cars attended from NS, Saint John, River Valley, and Greater Moncton Corvette Club.  This was a very well-organized event.  All went home at different times and again different directions.  Thanks to Evelyne and Philip Valotaire, Marc and Sharon Willet, Linda and Leander Gauvin and family members for the great weekend.  This event will probably be added to our calendar for next year.
3)  Saint John Moon Glow Show and Poker Run Sept 29-30.  57 Corvettes participated in the show Friday night under the lights.  Steel band was very good and lots of prizes awarded throughout the evening including $1000 for tires at Coast Tire anywhere in the Maritimes and a toolbox donated by Car Craft, both major show sponsors.  BBQ by Bobbys Hospice was enjoyed by many.  Saturday poker run had 42 vettes participate, our group from GMCC had 2 cars from Saint John escort us to check points to pick up our cards.  All ended up at Boston Pizza for prizes and awards.  One lucky guy won the 50/50 as well as all 3 gas cards.
4)  Rye's Run Oct 1st had 3 vettes from our club participate, many less than previous years.  Route taken was also different than previous years.
5)  Roger advised he sold calendars in both Bathurst and Saint John.  90 are left to be sold.
New Business: 1) Christmas Party scheduled for Nov 25, menu should be available by this Friday, the caterer, Ralph, will be in touch with Marc an email will be sent to Helen who in turn will send to the group.  It will be necessary to RSVP and prepay for the meal either cash to Rick and Helen in person or by etransfer.  Items are requested for silent auction.  Email to be sent shortly.  Helen to pick up items for the party and keep receipts to submit.
2) Fast Past – it appears no items have been submitted for the fall issue, to be revisited prior to spring.
3) Memberships - Rick made motion seconded by Roger those new members paying in Bathurst to have membership extended to 2024 as we are so late in the season, the member who had membership due to purchasing vehicle at Lounsbury's and paying dues to have membership extended to 2025, all in favor motion carried.
4)  Review of emails indicated no one had offered their name for positions of President, Vice President or Secretary for 2024, Teri to send another email to membership, election of officers November.
Upcoming Events 1) Sept 21 ACCC meeting at Lounsbury's.
6pm Miss Teen Pageant in St Antoine, vettes needed to pick up participants.  Teri will send email.
2)  Sept 22 Truemans Lobster Run – Changes for this year, leave Riverview Point Park Petro Can at 9am go to Alma to pick up lobster and baked goods, picture at entrance to Park at top of hill, eat at Muddy Rudder either purchase drinks and appetizer to go with lobster or order from menu and take lobster home for another day.  Run through park, entrance fee to enter park required.  Email will be sent shortly.
3) Hamptons Middle School car show, Oct 27th.

Meeting called to order by President Marc Melanson who thanked everyone for coming on a holiday.
Minutes of last meeting on site and circulated, corrections to be made Petitcodiac BBQ scheduled for Aug 13.  St. Antoine car show Sept 17.  Helen advised will be corrected on site and calendar updated correctly by Rick.  Teri will send email to members with corrections.  Motion by Tom seconded by Roger to accept minutes with corrections, all in favor, motion carried.
Treasurers Report:  Provided by Tom Osler, credits $1969.34 which included memberships of $240, 50/50 from last meeting $25,50, 50/50 Saturday Nationals $325 to be forwarded to Camp Triumph, Sunday 50/50 $175 to be allotted to Christmas Party, fund raiser from pressure washer ticket sales $200 to be forwarded to IWK, 37 calendar sales $740, sponsorship $150. Mobile Oil sale $100, Pay Pal $13.84; Debits of $1053.84 included $250 to Marc for purchase of gas cards, Donation to Autism $790, Pay Pal $13.84.  No outstanding cheques.
Balance XXXXX.  Moved by Roger seconded by Ray to accept, all in favor, motion carried.  Roger gave Treasurer $120 for sale of 5 calendars.
Bills for Payment: Angie thank you notes to sponsors Atlantic Nationals $10.58 buckets for 50/50, caution tape $29.88, total $51.97.  Motion by Dave seconded by Debbie to pay Angela for expenses, all in favor, motion carried.
Old Business: 1) Roger provided update from Atlantic Nationals, he and Angela hosted 1 couple from Newfoundland and their brother from Ontario at home on for car wash on Wed night, later 6 couples went out to supper including the group who came from Maine for the show.  Thursday, he organized and took the group to Michel LeBlanc's through Shediac.  Michael showed us around has new stuff all around inside and out, more stuff than you can imagine.  Number of persons inside at one time had to be limited due to space. From there lunch reservations were at La Aboiteau and as the restaurant had been booked, they blocked off a parking area for the vettes next to the restaurant.  Everyone had a great meal and quick service.  After relaxing group went to Confederation Bridge ( Cape Jermaine ) to take pictures.  After pictures group headed back to Moncton to the downtown car show and music.  Gas card won by Ernie, one of the Maine group.
Saturday, we had our car show at the Nationals, thankyou to everyone who helped out with taping off field, installing banners and signs, parking cars, selling tickets.  We had over 104 cars give or take.
Sunday, we had the same spot with more than 50 vettes returning for the day.
2)  Roger also provided update on trip to Yarmouth which he reported was lots of fun. He led group from Moncton to Masstown Market for stop, then around shore through Maitland, lunch in Windsor, then on to Yarmouth.  He had the misfortune of picking up a hook in his tire when entering the parking lot to the hotel but it was soon rectified.  The group toured a lobster plant, distillery which made caramel vodka, which was very good. Group then came back for the Greet and Meet Friday night with lots of finger food and live auctioneer NSCC raised over $6000 for their charity Feed NS.  Music was great with some members dancing.  Car show was Saturday with some of our members picking up prizes.  6 cars from Maine attended the show which was a great show.  Most went on the boats for visit, chowder and music on Tusket Island which I heard was great time.  We went to Boston Pizza with some NS friends who were there on the Club's behalf.  Sunday, we came home.   Gas card won by Cedric Gionet.
3)  Ed advised he wished to apologize to Angie and Roger for leaving the group after the restaurant on Wednesday during the Nationals, he realized that he had cars following him by mistake, he was ill after lunch and had to get home.  He advised he knew how much work both had put in to arranging this day for out-of-town guests and knew he was not to leave the group before heading to Cape Jermaine.  He asked that the apology be in the minutes. Roger advised the apology was accepted and all would move on from here.
4)  Update of tour of today Alpaca Farm in Rogersville. 10 cars participated, had excellent tour of additions to farm and property.  Farm was very accommodating. Reminder that members can stop at the gift shop for all Alpaca wool accessories.  Gas card drawn and winners Chanel and Judy Michaud.
 
New Business:  1)  Campbelltown Run Aug 19th.  Group needs to be in Bathurst for 11 am to meet with Bertrand Drapeau.  Roger will leave Magnetic Hill McDonalds at 8am and will travel up the 126 to Miramichi.  From there depending on construction.  Teri to send email to members.
2) Club BBQ this weekend, Aug 13 at 3pm.  Right now, 12 have advised they are attending but Teri will send another email this week before purchasing food, members are asked to bring their own drinks.  Club will reimburse the cost of food and coffee pods.  Roger will lead group from Needs on Elmwood Drive to St. Antoine leaving at 2pm, Teri will send member's email.
3)  Members are asked to think about volunteering for position on executive for 2024, positions open are President, Vice President, Secretary.  Tom is willing to stay on as Treasurer for another year, Teri as Communications and Membership and Rick as calendar.  Others may want to put their names forward for these positions as well.  Election of officers November and December.  Teri to send email once duties of positions are clarified with constitution.  Marc has advised with working and his schedule he has only been able to attend 2 runs this year and he really does not have time to dedicate to the position. Roger thanked him for stepping up this year to take on the roll.  Helen advised she would like at least a year break from the position.  Roger advised he would like someone else to take the position of Vice but that he will be there to provide guidance.
4)  Dave advised Don plans to have a run to Hillsborough Museum on Aug 26.  There is a Farmers Market there on Saturdays.  Members would be asked to bring picnic lunch, more details to follow with email from Teri.  Gas cars has been provided for trip as well as $100 donation to museum to pay entrance cost for members.  Motion made by Dave seconded by Ed that $100 be provided by club, all in favor, motion carried.
5)  126 Calendars are still for sale; Teri will send email encouraging members to purchase before they are sold out.

Meeting called to order by President Marc Melanson.
Minutes of last meeting posted on Facebook as requested as Teri Osler's computer in shop and she was unable to send to members by email.  President assured members our Facebook page is a closed group and only members of our club who have been approved to join can view, this s not a public forum.  Minutes were taken down from this page at the conclusion of the meeting by Rick who was asked to post them.  Motion to accept minutes made by Roger seconded by Leontine, all in favor, motion approved.
Treasurers Report:  In Treasurers absence, Helen had been asked to present report.  Credits: 50/50 $22.00 and sale of 12 calendars $240.00.  Debits: Roger $51.96 for expenses and Teri $251.79 for club BBQ. Bank Charges nil.  Balance XXXXX. Outstanding cheque for Train Museum $100.00.  Helen advised bank charges would be clarified.  Roger advised there would be no bank charges as bank was not charging at this time.  He advised that Angie had been to the bank, and she was advised that all transactions had been charged at $1.25 for the past period, this included both deposits and debits.  This issue will be reviewed further.  Motion to accept made by Roger seconded by Rick, all in favor, motion carried.
Marc advised he had $520 to be deposited for sale of calendars.
Bills for Payment:  Roger will hold until Treasurer available.
Issue of Petty Cash discussed considering bank intending to charge for each transaction.  Motion made by Margaret and seconded by Rick that $100 petty cash float be held by Treasurer therefore it would not be necessary to write cheques for small amounts.  All in favor, motion carried.
New Business: 1) Christmas Party – Hall has been booked for Nov 25th and chef Mike has been asked to cater event.  As this date is fast approaching request for volunteer to plan the event was made.  Helen and Rick have agreed to plan our party this year.  Some changes being made.  We will not be having an exchange of gifts.  There will be a silent auction, members are asked to donate generously as this is a fund raiser for our charities.  There will be music for dancing, more details to follow.  Marc will contact Mike to determine meal and was asked to look at choices for our members who require gluten and dairy free options.
2) Email back up required.  The emails are sent from a Gmail account and if Teri is not available, we need someone to log in and send emails on event changes quickly.  Don advised he will ask Dave to see if he would volunteer to do this.
3)  Trueman's Lobster Run scheduled for Oct 21.  Roger asked if it could be held on Sunday the 22 as Atlantic Corvette Meeting scheduled for Saturday.  Date changed, Rick to change in calendar.  Trueman advised snowmobile club is available, lobster shop and bakery both open.  He is looking at suggestions for the run.
4)  Sept 15/16 Autumn Corvette Show in Ellsworth USA.  Information provided to Roger from Acadian Corvette Club.
5)  Treasurer to be asked to give Roger cheque for $200 for IWK ASAP as it could be delivered this week.  Also, cheque for $325 to be forwarded to Camp Triumph this week.  These items outstanding from August meeting.  Marc will call Tom.
6)  Evelyne sent an email, 57 cars registered for Bathurst weekend Sept 22-24.  51 rooms booked and there are 2 left at Best Western if anyone else is thinking of going.  Logo requested to be sent to printing company tomorrow.  Group will leave McDonalds Magnetic Hill 10 am, Rick to adjust time in calendar.
7)  Saint John Show Sept 29 – Oct 1, group will leave 2pm from McDonalds Magnetic Hill, Rick to add to calendar.
8)  Calendars are still for sale Tom has taken 10 to work to sell and Roger has sold another 6, some sold on his recent trip to Newfoundland.  All members are encouraged to promote sales.  100 left.  These will be promoted at both Bathurst and Saint John shows.
9)  Scott advised he received an email from friend that antique shop in Salisbury has collection of corvette cards for sale, anyone interested to drop into old Masonic Hall in Salisbury where shop is located.
10)  Don has lots of bags left from Speed Sport East show and those will be given to Roger to take to upcoming events.
Past Events: 1) Don reported on run to Hillsborough.  9 cars participated, very interesting to have cars from C8 to C3. Dave took the lead as he had scouted the route out before the event, even then, they ran into chip seal for about 10 kms.  Director of Railway Museum, Steve Milburn, gave an informative tour of the museum, train shed and coach cars.  The gift shop has many die cast cars with unique packaging.  Dave took a picture in the parking lot of the cars and intended it to be printed to provide Steve a copy to be put in the museum.  The group intended to go to the BBQ and craft area for lunch but instead tried a restaurant for seafood chowder on the walk to the BBQ area.  Dave led the group home with a stop for ice cream along the way.  Don asked the secretary to send a thankyou card to Steve for having the group.
2)  Roger provided a detailed report on Campbeltown Run organized by Bertrand and Annette, Tim and Jeannine. and Philip and Evelyne. 5 cars left Mc Donalds Magnetic Hill and met up with another 2 on the 126, stopped in Douglastown then met up with the remainder at the Bathurst Mall.  Followed the coast to Belldune for a port tour, greeted by Denis Caron who provided a briefing on all the port activities present and future, a tour was arranged via a small bus around the port, very educational.  From there the group went to Ell River Crossing industrial park to meet Amand Landry at Landrich Ent.  He founded the company which started out with trucks and now manufactures tree harvesting equipment from scratch.  This modern plant cuts, welds etc. some automated and some not.  Wiring is all done precisely by hand.  The machines were all powder coated piece by piece.  Shop is very clean and neat.  Once machines are finished, they are all computerized.  Machine operators have a keypad to program.  Very interesting facility.  The owner is a fantastic person in his late 70's.  A vibrant business now owned by family members who also own ALPA equipment which sells other types of machines with 5 branches in the Maritimes.  From there supper at hotel restaurant.  Sunday, we proceeded to the Quebec side to a fossil museum and research facility, another great experience.  After lunch returned home via route 11.  Roger wished to thank the couples, Bertrand and Annette Philip and Evelyne and Tim and Jeannine for organizing this great weekend.
