The activities started off with the "Cruise to the Bay" on Wednesday evening, July 11.  This show, open to all rods, restorations and performance vehicles is the unofficial opening of The Nationals and the GMCC was the host club for this week.  As the host, we collected voluntary donations from all participants and spectators on behalf of our charity, the Autism Resource Centre.  The weather was perfect and the attendance was huge, including more than 30 Corvettes and as a result, our hard working collectors were able to amass more than $1300 for Autism, an all time record for this event.

On Friday the 13th, 24 Corvettes from the Maritimes and New England set out for lunch at l'Aboiteau Seafood Restaurant on the Northumberland Strait near Cap Pelé.  The Corvettes drew a lot of attention parked beside the wharf where the fishing boats land their catch.  Following lunch, we stopped at a local collector and enjoyed going through his garage and other buildings containing almost anything you can imagine.  Our last stop on this tour was at Untamed Rods and Customs and I cannot do them justice with my description so please visit their website at http://untamedrodsandcustoms.com/ to see the fantastic work they do.

The GMCC Show 'n Shine at The Nationals in Centennial Park on Saturday the 14th was a huge success, with 88 cars registered from all over the Maritimes and a few of our friends from New England and Pennsylvania.  Commemorative t-shirts were sold with all proceeds going to our charity and sales were brisk - after we tally up our receipts from the Cruise to the Bay and the Show 'n Shine sales, we will be presenting a very nice cheque to the Autism Resource Centre.  Following our awards presentation, the group travelled to a local restaurant for dinner and draws for some very nice prizes.

On Sunday the 14th, although there were no formal Corvette activities, many of us returned to the park to display our cars and enjoy the final day of The Nationals.  The weather was warm but beautiful and as a result, a record attendance was set with 2025 total vehicles registered for the show.  All in all, a terrific 5 days of Corvette activities.  And now, it's time for a rest.
