On a beautiful early Fall day, 22 Corvettes set out from Moncton for a day in Albert County and our first destination was the garage of Bobby and Lana Cooke in the village of Hillsborough.  As can be seen from the pictures, this is a Garage Mahal with something for everyone - cars, trucks, snowmobiles and motorcycles - talk about a "man cave"!  Thanks so much to Bobby and Lana for their hospitality.
After our visit, we proceeded on to our next stop, the Crooked Creek scenic lookout, high in the hills of Albert County overlooking the creek valley.  After our dry summer, little water was flowing but the view was still stunning and it will only get better in the next couple of weeks as the leaves go through the fall season.  We then travelled through Riverside-Albert and on to Alma and lunch at the Tides Restaurant adjacent to the fishing wharf and overlooking the Bay of Fundy.  Good food and lots of noise until the food was served - what do you expect from 40 hungry people?
After lunch, the group broke into two sub-groups - one travelled through Fundy National Park to the Trans Canada Highway and on home along the highway and the other followed a return path along the coast of the Bay of Fundy including stops at the Waterside Farms Cottage Winery, a beautiful beach near Cape Enrage and an ice cream stop in the village of Hillsborough.  The winery was unique in that they do not have a vineyard and instead utilize ingredients that can be grown and flourish in their locale, namely cranberries and blueberries.  Lots of tasting and purchasing at this stop.  At our beach stop, while there was a cool wind howling off the Bay of Fundy, it did not detract from the incredible scenery.  At one point along the road, it almost appeared that we were about to launch our cars directly into the water.  Fortunately, it was an illusion.
We lucked out with our ice cream stop - it was the last day they were open for the season.  Hard to believe it's almost over for another year.
