The regular monthly meeting of the Greater Moncton Corvette Club was held on September 2 at 7:00 p.m. in the Lounsbury's Meeting Room.  The following were present:  Roger & Angie Bourgeois, Pat Roy, Trueman Copp, Gary & Suzanne Gaskin, Art & Diane Belliveau, Gerry & Annette Warren, Chanel Michaud, Paul Dunn, Steve White, Wornick Price, Charles Gould, Don MacAulay, Steve & Marilyn Whalen, & Dwight & Libby Rayworth.

A card will be sent to Leontine & Roger on the passing of her brother.

We have 82 members to date.

The August minutes were approved with the addition of a thank you to Bertand Drapeau and DoreenTait for making the Matapedia trip such a success.  (Apologies from Libby for omitting their names).  Also please note the correction in the name Action Car and Truck Cap of Moncton.

Eight cars attended the Saint John Car Show.  A few members went to Costco after the show to look for 2014 Corvettes.  They caused quite a disturbance.

Roger wanted it noted that the Swap Meeting in Scoudouc took place on August 17 & 18 and not August 16 as noted in the minutes.

A number of cars met at Aulac to proceed to Vettefest on PEI with fifty-one to fifty-five cars taking part in the run across the island on Saturday followed by a BBQ supper and Chinese Auction.

Approximately 60 cars participated in the show on Sunday.  Paul Dunn, Don MacAulay, Andre Richard and Roger Boudreau won awards at the show.

Bob Cook took us on back roads to Alma where we ate at the restaurant on the waterfront.   Some bought goodies at the Sticky Bun Shop.  From Alma we proceeded to Cape Enrage where we spent time touring the area.  No one was brave enough to try the zip-line.

Paul and others made the trek to Carlisle.  He suggests that everyone should make the trip at least once.

Trueman continued on to Bowling Green and visited the Museum.  The plant was closed.

Wornick presented the Financial Report.  A copy is enclosed with the file copy of these minutes.

Our balance as of the end of August is         .

Motion:  It was moved by Dwight, seconded by Paul that the Financial Report be accepted.   Carried.

Bills for payment

Roger presented a bill for postage for $6.06

Motion:  It was moved by Dwight, seconded by Wornick, that this bill be paid.  Carried

There was discussion on the amount we should give to our charity the Autism Resource Centre.  GMCC gave them $1,500 last year.

Motion:  It was moved by Wornick, seconded by Pat that we donate $2,000 to Autism this year.  Carried.

Roger will speak to Bill Doherty to see if the Atlantic Nationals will be making a donation to Autism this year as they did last year.

Old Business

Our Christmas Party will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 30 at the Moncton Dart Club.   A turkey dinner will be served at a cost of approximately $15.  Angie and Annette will host the party.

Motion:  It was moved by Angie, seconded by Paul that $300 be budgeted for Christmas Party supplies.  Carried.

Bob Richard will be approached again this year to provide music for the party as he provided great music last year.

There was discussion as to whether we should continue to have a Yankee Swap at the Christmas Party with people each bringing a gift for $15 or whether we should give a money donation to a charity instead.   No decision was made.

Motion:  Gary moved, seconded by Pat that two more $25 gas gift cards be purchased to be drawn for during the Fall .  Carried.

New Business

Roger read an e-mail from Bob and Josie Dwyer from Newfoundland thanking the Club for their hospitality while attending the Atlantic Nationals this past July.  They extended an invitation to anyone visiting Newfoundland to give them a call as they would be pleased to return the hospitality to any vette members visiting Newfoundland.  They can be reached at 709-674-4930 (or by cell 709-424-0061).

We will be participating in the Sussex Balloon Fest Car Show on September 8, leaving McDonalds at 9:30 a.m.

Please note the Campbell Carriage Factory in Sackville is closed now for the season and is only open on weekends by appointment.  The Blacksmith Shop will not be operating again until next summer.  Bolten House in Sackville is open through the week but only by appointment on the weekends.

The St. Antoine Fall Colours Car Show takes place on September 15.  We will leave Tim Horton's on Elmwood Drive (across from the airfield) at 9:00 a.m.

We will make a trip to Cape Jourimain on September 21.  We will leave Kents at 10:00 a.m.  Lunch will be at Cape Jourimain.  Please let Gary or Suzanne Gaskin know what you would like to order for lunch if you have not already done so.

Steve Whalen has offered to work on our Facebook page.  Thanks Steve.

Cruises to the Bay have finished for the season.

There are a few Car Show t-shirts still available for purchase.  There was discussion as to what we should do with the surplus shirts.

Discussion was held on "participant incentives" and how to increase our numbers on events we host throughout the year.

Trueman suggested a possible Fall drive along the Old Fredericton Road to enjoy the fall colours on October 12 or 13.

Corvettes at Carlisle will run August 22-24, 2014.

Motion to adjourn was made at 8:20 p.m. by Wornick, seconded by Angie.  Carried
