Minutes of October 7, 2013

The regular monthly meeting of the Greater Moncton Corvette Club was held in the Lounsbury's Meeting room at 7:00 p.m. on October 7, 2013.  The following members were present:

Trueman Copp, Roger & Leontine Boudreau, Dave Fyffe, Steve White, Austin & Carolyn McKay, Chanel Michaud, Steve & Marilyn Whalen, Doug MacDonald, Charlie Gould, Wornick Price, Don MacAulay, Skip & Cheryl MacKenzie, Paul Dunn, Pat Roy, Gary Gaskin, Gerry & Annette Warren, Gary Butler, & Dwight & Libby Rayworth.

A representative from the Autism Resource Center attended the meeting where Roger presented her with a cheque for $2,000 from GMCC and a cheque for $1,000 from the Atlantic Nationals. 

The September minutes were approved as read.

Financial Report

Our bank balance as of September 30 is $________.  (See Financial Report attached to the file copy of the minutes.)

Motion:  It was moved by Doug, seconded by Angie that the financial report be accepted.  Carried.

Bills for Payment

$200 – Donation made to Cape Jourimain.
$14.58 – Postage

Motion:  It was moved by Angie, seconded by Chanel that these bills be paid.  Carried

New Business

The  trip to the Sussex Balloon Fest was cancelled because of the weather.

A few corvettes attended the Fall Colours Car Show in St. Antoine.

Eight cars made the trip to Cape Jourimain where we were given a great tour and enjoyed good food.  From there we continued on to the Winegarden Estate Winery in Baie Verte, then to Amherst with a stop at Tim's for coffee and then on to Dorchester and Memramcook and home.

Those making the trip to Mahone Bay had a great weekend.  Many thanks for Roger & Angie for organizing this event.   As many as 35 vettes participated in this run.  Several draws were made. Gas cards were won by Carolyn & Bob, & Brian & Debbie.  The hotel voucher was won by Austin and Carolyn.  Gary & Suzanne won the meal voucher.   The weather on both days was perfect. 

Pat  brought in two samples of name tags that we might like to order.  They were passed around and it was decided to order the name tags with the club crest on them at a cost of $10 each.   Pat collected names and money from some of the members at the meeting who wanted the new tags.

It was decided to have our regular Yankee Swap gift exchange at the Christmas Party. Those who wish to do so can make a donation as well which we will give to a local charity at Christmas.

Motion:  It was moved by Angie, seconded by Pat that we give Bob Richard $50 to arrange for a sound system to be set up for music at our Christmas party.  Carried.

Motion:  It was moved by Leontine, seconded by Pat that we donate $75 for turkeys for the Sue Stultz Turkey Drive.  Carried.

Memorial donations were made on behalf of Monica's Dad and Della's Sister.

New Business

Our President's Run will be held soon, organized by Trueman.  Details will follow by e-mail.

The meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.

Dwight won $24. in the 50/50 draw.
