Greater Moncton Corvette Club
Minutes of June 2, 2014

The regular monthly meeting of the Greater Moncton Corvette Club was held in the Lounsbury's meeting room at 7:00 p.m. on June 2, 2014 with the following members present:  Roger & Angie Bourgeois, Charles Gould, Gerry & Annette Warren, Pat Roy, Don MacAulay, Wornick Price, Steve Whalen, Gary Gaskin, Doug MacDonald, Ed LeBlanc, Paul Dunn, Bob Surrette, Trueman Copp, Steve White, George and Debbie King, & Dwight & Libby Rayworth.

Roger mentioned the passing of Jeannie Lipton which happened on May 16..  Our sincere sympathy goes out to Mike and his family.  Some members attended the visitation and funeral. 

Roger welcomed new members George and Debbie King to the Club.

Old Business

The McAdam run was well attended.  The McAdam Train Station was visited first.  After this tour, John & Pauline Thompson fed us a wonderful lunch and gave us a tour of their woolen mill as well.

Rick and Claudette Goguen won the $25 gas card drawn for during this run.

A fair number of members attended the Maritime Motorsport BBQ followed by a drive to Cornhill Nursery. 

A few members enjoyed the Bar Harbour weekend.  Bob Steeves and Trueman Copp both won awards.

Financial Report

Wornick presented the Financial Report.  Our balance as of June 2 is $         .    Motion:  It was moved by Bob Surrette, seconded by Charles Gould that the Financial Report be accepted.  Carried.  A copy of the financial report is attached to the file copy of these minutes.

Bills For Payment

Motion:  It was moved by Pat, seconded by Steve that these bills be paid.  Carried.

A big thanks goes out to Marilyn for the buns for both our BBQs.

A bill from Steve:     24 Club Hats ordered from Don Lavoie  $325.44  (These hats will be sold to members for $15 each).

Steve also had $51.00 left over from money he had for Speedsport expenses which he gave back to the club.

Motion:  It was moved by Doug, seconded by Paul that the hat bill be paid.

New Business:

Roger said that Francois Gallant suggested that members pay their membership by Pay Pal.  This was discussed and it was agreed that membership fees could be paid this way, as well as by cash or cheque.

Cruise to Chocolate River Station

This year's Cruise will take place at the Chocolate River Station in Riverview (located at the Old Fire Station there).  Cruises will be held every Wednesday evening from May 28 to the end of August.  July 9 and August 13 will be the evenings our club will sponsor the event.  Please try and be present on the nights we sponsor the Cruise.

18 cars took part in the St. Martin's Run.  Francois won a $25 gift card from the restaurant we ate at.  Thanks to Gregg and Claudette Turner for leading us on a tour of the Fundy Trail.

June 7 (with a rain date of June 8) is the Lounsbury's Car Show running from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.  The Autism Resource Centre will hold a BBQ on site.

River Valley Vettes Car Show

The Fredericton show will be held on Saturday, June 21.  Please see Paul Dunn's e-mail to everyone with details of events for the show.  We will leave McDonald's Magnetic Hill at 8:30 a.m.

Ferry Run – June 29th

Wornick hopes to take us on a ferry run which will leave at 9:00 a.m. from McDonald's Magnetic Hill.  Watch for an e-mail with details about the trip.

Atlantic Nationals

The Atlantic Nationals and our car show are fast approaching.  Angie has been looking at designs and a supplier for our t-shirts.  Roger asked that people try and come up with prizes to give away.

There was talk of ordering visors for the females in the club to purchase.

Motion to adjourn came at 7:50 p.m.

50/50- draw

Paul won $19 in the 50/50 draw.
