Minutes of July 7, 2014

The regular monthly meeting of the Greater Moncton Corvette Club was held at the Lounsbury's meeting room at 7:00 p.m. on July 7, 2014.  The following members were present.  Roger & Angie Bourgeois, Bob Surrette, Wornick Price, Charles Gould, Chanel Michaud, Don MacAulay, Doug MacDonald, Paul Dunn, Jake Clements, Steve & MarilynWhalen, Victor LeBlanc, Ed & Kim Slade, Pat Roy, Dave Fyffe, Trueman Copp, Steve White, Gary Gaskin, Bob Steeves, & Dwight & Libby Rayworth.

The June minutes were approved as read.

Roger announced that Roger Boudreau's mother passed away earlier today.  Our thoughts are with Roger & Leontine.

Old Business

Only twenty cars attended the Lounsbury's Show probably because of the cold weather.  More advertising will be needed for next year's show.

Fourteen cars from our club attended the River Valley Vettes Car Show.  Congratulations to Trueman, Bob Steeves, and Gerry for winning awards at the show.

The Ferry Boat Run was excellent.  Thanks to Wornick and Dwight for organizing the run and to Roger for leading the Group on the run.

Angie has ordered club visors for the ladies.  See her if you would like to purchase one.

Financial Report

Wornick presented the financial report.  Our balance as of July 7, 2014 is $_________.  A copy of this report is attached to a file copy of these minutes.  Motion:  It was moved by Bob Surrette, seconded by Angie that the report be accepted.  Carried.

Bills for Payment

Angie presented the following bills for payment totaling $1,115.58 –
Stamps $9.61
Hats for prizes for our Show $33.87
T-Shirts $957.32
Paper $5.42
Caution Tape $29.36
(Quad C – Mobile One - sent a cheque for $80.  Angie purchased 2 - $40 gift certificates to be presented as prizes at our show.)

Motion:  It was moved by Pat, seconded by Charlie that these bills be paid.  Carried.

Motion:  It was moved by Wornick, seconded by Doug that we sell Show T-Shirts for $10.  Carried.

New Business

Because of the bad weather on the weekend, the trip to Roger & Geraldine Gallant's cottage was cancelled.

We are the sponsor at the July 9 Cruise to Chocolate River Station.  Please try to attend to help park the cars.

Moncton Speed and Custom Club will hold a Show & Shine on July 8th at the Pointe-Du-Chene Wharf in the evening.

Atlantic Nationals

Roger quickly ran through the events for the Atlantic Nationals weekend. 

Note that the Friday run to Shediac with the Club will leave the Irving at the Corner of Champlain Street & Dieppe Blvd. at 12:00 noon.  We will have lunch at La Dune Restaurante in  Cap Pele.

At our car show on Saturday, please come early to help park cars.  Paul will sell hats & T-Shirts.  Charlie and Bob S. will give out the prizes at the show.  Steve W. will register the cars.  Supper will be at Jean's Restaurant on Mountain Road after the show where prizes will also be given out.

Motion:  It was moved by Paul, seconded by Bob S that donations to our show will be given to the "Fallen RCMP Members' Family Fund".  Carried

Parking on Sunday will be on the hill, which is not being reserved just for our use.  Anyone can park there.  So get there early if you want a spot.

The cruise to Mike Lipton's cottage for a picnic will take place on Saturday, July 19 (rain date Sunday, July 20), leaving the Irving at the Corner of Champlain Street & Dieppe Blvd. at 9:00 a.m.  The cars will be traveling through Port Elgin to Tatamagouche.

We will be leaving from the Dieppe Irving at 8:30 a.m. on July 26 to attend the Maritime Meet in Truro.

We will leave McDonald's, Mountain Road on August 2 at 8:00 a.m. for the Grand Manan Tour.

If you haven't already reserved a room for the Scarecrow Festival in Mahone Bay, you should probably do so.  We will confirm plans to attend Oak Island at a later date.

Roger B. won $21 in the 50/50 draw.
