Greater Moncton Corvette Club
Minutes of September 8, 2014

The regular monthly meeting of the Greater Moncton Corvette Club was held in the Lounsbury's meeting room at 7:00 p.m. on September 8.  The following members were present:  Roger & Angie Bourgeois, Wornick Price, Steve & Marilyn Whalen, Austin & Carolyn McKay, Hugh & Colleen Mitchell, Charles Gould, Pat Roy, Jake Clements, Steve White, Paul Dunn, Don MacAulay, Dwight & Libby Rayworth, Gary Gaskin, & Vic LeBlanc.

The August Minutes were approved as read with the correction that the cheque has already been given to those responsible for collecting donations for the three fallen RCMP members.

Old Business

The Saint John show was well attended.

The PEI Weekend was great fun.  On Saturday we toured the Eastern part of the Island and a distillery.  As usual PEI hosted a free BBQ supper in the evening and there was also a Chinese auction which we all enjoyed.  The weather for the car show on Sunday morning was iffy but turned out to be sunny by noon time.  We enjoyed supper at the Gateway Village before heading back home.

Roger reported that a few club members went to Carlisle and,as always, enjoyed themselves.

Roger & Angie attended the Casino New Brunswick show and shine on Saturday and reported that things seemed to go well.

Fourteen cars from our group attended the Balloon Fest Car Show in Sussex.  Some left mid afternoon to return home through Alma.  Others stayed to see the balloons go up but were disappointed when they were not able to do so.

Financial Report - Wornick reported a balance as of September 6 as $______.   Motion:  It was moved by Pat, seconded by Dwight that the financial report be accepted.  Carried.  Please note that a file copy of Wornick's report is attached to these minutes.

Bills for Payment -   Bill from Angie for $16.90 for pouches and clips for name tags.
Motion:  It was moved by Steve, seconded by Charles that this bill be paid.  Carried.

New Business

Those participating in the Dalhousie Run on September 20-21 will leave on Saturday, September 20 at 8:30 a.m. from McDonalds Magnetic Hill.  A few couples will leave from Fredericton and will meet up at the Al-Bonne Route Shell.

The lobster run on Sunday, September 28 will leave Riverview Mall at 10:00 a.m. and tour Albert County.

Roger thought it would be beneficial to welcome new members to the club when they come to their first club meeting.

A thank you certificate was received from Lou MacNarin School for the contribution we made to the Breakfast Program at their School.

A thank you card was received from Judy Butler thanking us for the contribution made to the Autism Resource Centre on the passing of her father.

Motion:  It was moved by Angie and seconded by Don that Gary Gaskin set up a committee to come up with a new design for our club pin.  Carried

Scarecrow Festival & Oak Island -   "It was announced that we would not be allowed to take a tour of Oak Island while on our run to the Scarecrow Festival.  After considerable discussion, we agreed that most of the interest in the trip was centered on the Oak Island tour, and since this was no longer available and since we had visited the Scarecrow Festival last year, we would cancel the Club trip and instead join the Nova Scotia Club on their tour of Cape Breton the following weekend."  Make sure you cancel your accommodations for the Scarecrow Festival.

Cabot Trail Run – October 11-13 -  Please see Paul Dunn's e-mail from Matt Meade if you have questions about this run and want to attend.

Possible Newfoundland Tour June 27, July 1, 2015 -  Steve is planning a possible trip to Newfoundland next summer.  He will keep the Club posted as things progress.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:35 p.m.

Roger Bourgeois won $15 in the 50/50 draw.
