Minutes of October 6, 2014

The regular monthly meeting of the Greater Moncton Corvette Club was held in the Lounsbury's meeting room on Monday, October 6 at 7:00 p.m. with the following members present:  Roger & Angie Bourgeois, Vic LeBlanc, Charles Gould, Pat Roy, Don MacAulay, Wornick Price, Roger & Leontine Boudreau, Dwight & Libby Rayworth, Dave & Louise Fyffe, Steve and Marilyn Whalen, Jake Clement, Austin & Carolyn McKay, Hugh & Colleen Mitchell, Gary Gaskin, & Steve White.

With the clarification that new members' names be announced at meetings, the September minutes were approved as read.

Old Business

Matapedia Run

Roger reported that the trip to Matapedia was an enjoyable two days with a lot of great scenery.  Thanks for Bertrand Drapeau and Doreen Tait for prizes they provided for the draws that took place.

Lobster Run

Twenty eight cars or so took part in the Lobster run organized by Charlie and Truman.  While on the run we stopped at Doug Steeves' and Bob and Lana Cooke's garages to view their prize possessions and memorabilia.  We ate our lobsters at the Goshen Snowmobile Club.  Thanks again to them for offering their club to us as they did last year to enjoy our lobsters.

New Club Logo

Gary and Steve passed around examples of possible logos we could use as our new club logo.  A decision was made as to the logo the club wanted to use.

Financial Report

Wornick presented the financial report.  Our balance as of October 6 was _____.    Motion:  It was moved by Steve Whalen, seconded by Leontine that the financial report be accepted.  Carried.  A paper copy of Wornick's report is attached to a file copy of the minutes.

There were no bills for payment.

As of September 24 we have 82 paid members.

Donation of $150 for School Breakfast Program

Motion:  Pat moved, seconded by Leontine that the club donate $150 to a school breakfast program – the school to be determined.  Carried.

Breakfast at Cheers

We will begin our winter activity of having breakfast at Cheers restaurant one Sunday a month starting in November which will enable us all to get together over the long winter months when our cars are put away.

Christmas Party

Our Christmas Party this year will be on Saturday, December 6 at the Moncton Dart Club where a turkey dinner will be served.  Each member should bring a gift in the amount of  $15.

Cabot Trail Run

Paul will send out details as to when the group will be leaving Moncton on Saturday morning.

President's Run -   This year's President's Run will be held on October 19 with lunch at Masstown Market followed by a run through Parrsboro. 

Atlantic Corvette Meeting -   This meeting will be held on October 25 at the Lounsbury's Meeting Room.  Please pass on any information you would like discussed to Roger who will bring it up at the meeting.

Newfoundland Trip -     Steve updated us on the Newfoundland trip scheduled for next summer.  He will keep us informed.

50/50 Draw –

Colleen Mitchell won $19 in the 50/50 draw.
