On a cool, cloudy day, 11 Corvettes gathered at our departure point for the first GMCC run of the 2015 season.  Our route took us north through Irishtown, Notre Dame, Cocagne, Bouctouche and on to Richibucto with several stops along the way to explore and enjoy some of the historic churches in the region.  In each case, we also spent time in the church cemetery exploring the oldest monuments and tombstones.  Although most of the early settlers were of French origin, the exception was the Saint Andrews United Church in Rexton where the majority of the earliest inhabitants came from Scotland.  We took a break for lunch at a restaurant in Rexton where many of us enjoyed some of the local seafood.  After lunch, under sunny skies, we headed south for our last church visit in Shediac Bridge before travelling off in different directions for home base.
Thanks to Angie for putting the run together and coming up with historical information on each of the churches to make the run not only fun but also educational.
