Three Corvettes departed Moncton for Bar Harbor on Friday morning: Roger & Angela, Ed & Imelda, Don & Debbie.  Taking the gorgeous scenic route 1 from Calais to Ellsworth, then route 3 into Bar Harbour, we made a few stops to enjoy the view including a stop at the Ste-Croix Island interpretation Centre where a Park employee kindly explained the history behind this location.  The route also gave us an opportunity to stop at a fantastic seafood restaurant for lunch.  We arrived at the Wonderview & Bluenose Inn in time to follow the group up Cadillac Mountain.  Unfortunately the 3 musketeers ended up being left behind after a couple of quick turns, so we explored on our own.  Back to the hotels for a little rest & relaxation before the downtown meet & greet.  Here is where we joined Leon & Jocelyne who had travelled to BH earlier during the week.
A scavenger hunt for gold letters kept everyone aware of their surroundings. 😀
Up early on Saturday to take part in the show where approx 100 Corvettes came out to enjoy the above average temperature of 28 degrees.  The show concluded with great prizes for everyone (and everyone did indeed win something).   Don & Debbie followed the Vettes of Coastal Maine on a trip back up Cadillac Mountain, including a stop to visit an antique car museum.  They enjoyed this part of their trip and would like us to include it in future trips to Bar Harbor.  Please ask them about it...very interesting.
Ed & Roger drove the ladies to Bangor for a little shopping fix.
We all met up again for the bus ride to the banquet with theme R&R.  Many people took the opportunity to dress up in their favourite R&R character (Robin Hood, Ragatty Andy, Red Riding Hood...) or just plain PJs.  Lots of yummy roast beef, chicken & cheese cake.  After the meal & dance, the bus was made available for the drive back to the hotel.
A fantastic weekend of making new friends and reacquainting with those we hadn't seen after a long, long winter.
