Greater Moncton Corvette Club
Minutes of July 6, 2015

The regular monthly meeting of the Greater Moncton Corvette Club was held at the Lounsbury meeting room on July 6 at 7:00 p.m.  The following members were present:  Roger & Angie Bourgeois, Steve Whalen, Wornick Price, Charles LeBlanc, Don MacAulay, Trueman Copp, Ed & Kim Slade, Roger & Leontine Boudreau, Paul Dunn, Steve White, Jake Clements, Dwight & Libby Rayworth, Ken Cameron & Vic Leblanc.

The June minutes were approved as read with the following corrections – It was Ed LeBlanc who made the trip to Bar Harbor not Ed Slade.  - Also Roger asked that if you are in hospital, please let the Club know whether or not you would like visitors.

The Club gave a warm welcome to Leontine and Roger.  Leontine had recently experienced a heart attack but is now up and running and able to attend tonight's meeting.

Old Business

The Lounsbury's Car Show was a great success with 65 cars registered.  The following won prizes – Ed & Kim Slade won $1,000, Ron & Ann Gould won $750, & the Woods from Nova Scotia won $500.   Trueman & Marilyn Copp won the TV.

The drive & picnic to Grand Lake had 15 cars participate.  Ron & Ann Gould & Mac & Simone MacDonald met us on route and escorted us to a beautiful property with a view of Grand Lake where we saw an old Rolls Royce and a 71/72 Corvette.  We took part in the Grand Lake grand opening and had our picnic lunch on the shore of the lake.  We then toured around the lake and drove to Charles and Minerva Gormley's home in Minto to view their property and cars.  After this stop, we headed home towards Moncton.  Roger said there will be a draw for a gas card from those who participated in this run.

Ten cars from GMCC made the trip to the RVV show under cloudy skies but the weather improved as the day wore on.  There was a poor showing mostly due to bad weather and the date being changed.

The Newfoundland trip planned by Steve & Marilyn was a great success.  Roger reported on the sights seen and the events held.  A special thanks to Steve & Marilyn for all their work.  Roger presented Steve with a small gift from the Club in appreciation for all their hard work.

Financial Report

Wornick presented the financial report.  Our balance to date is $-----.  Wornick gave a total of bills for payment received at tonight's meeting which totalled $---------.

A copy of the financial report will be attached to a file copy of the minutes.

Motion:  It was moved by Wornick, seconded by Dwight that the financial report be accepted.  Carried.

New Business

There was discussion of a club event for July 18 or 19.  It was agreed that a day trip be planned for St. Martin's on July 18 with a rain date of July 19.

Maritime Meet on July 25

The Maritime Meet will be held on July 25 in Truro.  This is always a great show.  GMCC will depart from the Irving on Dieppe Blvd. at 8:30 a.m.

An updated list of Maritime Motor Sport Officers can be found on their web page at www.maritimemotorsporthalloffame.com

Atlantic Nationals –   July 9 – 12, 2015

Registration packages can be picked up at the Wesleyan Celebration Centre, 945 St. George Blvd. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and  Sunday registration is at Centennial Park.

Please see the Atlantic Nationals Booklet for a complete list of Weekend Events.

There will be a few Corvetters from Newfoundland arriving in Moncton on Tuesday afternoon for the Atlantic Nationals.  It was Roger's thought that our club should plan some events to show them a good time while they are in Moncton to thank them for the good time they gave us while we were in Newfoundland.  Please see e-mails from Paul on what is being planned.

Volunteers are needed to help out with our show on Saturday.  Many hands make light work.  Please be ready, willing and able to help.

Cars will be parked in the order in which they arrive regardless of generation.  We are encouraged to mingle with other clubs and new members during the show to make everyone feel welcomed.

Autism will have their BBQ on site.   A steak supper at Jeanne's Restaurant will follow the show at approximately 4:00 p.m.  Prizes will be drawn for at the supper as well.

After supper, Club members will go twice around the Cruise Tour Route and then will park their cars to watch other cars tour throughout the evening.

Our Club will again be parking on the hill at Centennial Park on Sunday.

50/50 Draw

Dwight won $17 in the 50/50 draw.
