What a wonderful week to be a member of the Corvette fraternity in South Eastern New Brunswick as the Greater Moncton Corvette Club had the privilege of hosting visitors from Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Western Ontario, New England and the other New Brunswick clubs for our annual Show and Shine in conjunction with the Atlantic Nationals.  With so many visitors from outside the region, Roger and Angie put together a series of cruises to showcase the attractions and natural beauty of South Eastern New Brunswick.

Activities began on July 8th with a visit to MacDonald Corvettes in Moncton, followed by a tour of Shediac and surrounding area on the Northumberland Strait.

The following day we met in the town of Riverview across the Petitcodiac River from Moncton and set out on a tour of the Bay of Fundy coast, covering such attractions as the Hopewell Rocks, Cape Enrage and the town of Alma located at the entrance of Fundy National Park.

The next day, Friday the 10th, a total of 35 cars travelled to Cap Pelé for lunch at Restaurant de la Dune on a beautiful beach on the shore of the Northumberland Strait.  After lunch, we drove to the home of a renowned local collector, Michel LeBlanc who was once featured on the popular TV show "Canadian Pickers".  It is always an adventure visiting Michel because his collection is forever changing with new items to see and enjoy.

Then Saturday arrived, the big day of the Show and Shine and the weather was perfect so the Corvettes just kept coming and coming and coming!  When the final count was taken, the total was 127 Corvettes, an all-time record for this event.  We cannot overstate how much we appreciate the support from everyone who participated and helped us raise funds for our club charity, the Autism Resource Centre here in Moncton.  After the ballots were counted, our prize winners were as follows:

C1            -  Dean Hannay   -  1961 White Convertible  -  GMCC
C2            -  Marc Boudreau -  1966 Silver Convertible

C7 Coupe  -  Roger Cormier   - 2015 Red

In addition, a special Atlantic Nationals award was drawn to recognize those who travelled the furthest to be at our show and the winners were Ron and Anne Lee with the Corvettes of Western Ontario - thank you so much to you and your fellow club members for joining us.  Following the awards presentation, a large group of participants travelled to a local restaurant for a group dinner and more prize draws and then joined the cruise around Moncton.

Sunday was a quiet day at the park as we waited for the Nationals prizes to be drawn and when the names were announced, members Brian and Debbie Palmer were chosen for a $2,000 credit for new wheels and tires - very nice!

All in all, a fantastic week, thanks largely to Roger and Angie Bourgeois and other GMCC members who devoted time and effort to make this a memorable event - you know who you are.  And now, planning starts for next year!
