Minutes of September 7, 2015

The regular monthly meeting of the Greater Moncton Corvette Club was held on Monday, September 7 at the Lounsbury Meeting Room at 7:00 p.m. with the following members present:  Roger & Angie Bourgeois, Steve Whalen, Dave & Louise Fyffe, Paul Dunn, Vic LeBlanc, Wornick Price, Ed LeBlanc, Bob Steeves, Don MacAulay, Dwight & Libby Rayworth, Gary Gaskin, Charles Gould, Steve White.

The August minutes stand as read.

Bobby Steeves attended our meeting to make a presentation to us on the upcoming 250th Anniversary of the Steeves Family Arrival in New Brunswick and asked for our Club's possible participation during their celebrations the week of July 22 – 29, 2016.  She asked that we consider participating in the Opening Parade in Hillsborough on July 22 and the Family Picnic on July 24, 2016.  She will keep us informed as things progress but asked that we mark these dates for possible participation.

Old Business

Ten cars attended the Saint John Car Show and had a good time.

Twenty-four cars attended the two day PEI Show.  There was great fun and good roads.  Participants were presented with engraved mugs marking the Club's 15th Anniversary.

Roger said that the Eastern Shore Run took them on many roads they had never traveled before.

Ten cars drove to King's Landing and enjoyed lunch at the King's Head Inn.

Four cars traveled to Carlisle – Brian and Debbie Palmer, Don MacAulay, Roger Cormier & his wife, as well as Tom & Candace Kennedy.

Five cars from Moncton and two cars from Nova Scotia took part in the Yarmouth run.  The weather was great and the weekend was a lot of fun.

Financial Report

Wornick presented the financial report.   Our balance to date is $_____.  ($____ of this amount is committed to the Autism Resource Centre.)   Motion:  It was moved by Angie, seconded by Steve that the financial report be accepted.  Carried.

Club Banner

Lloyds of Moncton and Lounsbury's are sharing expenses with us for our new club banner.

We now have 25th Anniversary plaques made and are selling them for $15. each.

New Business

September 12th  is the Hub City Car Show at the Casino.  The entry fee is $25. plus taxes per car.

September 13th is the Sussex Balloon Fest. We will be leaving McDonald's Magnetic Hill at 8:00 a.m. 

September 20th is the St. Antoine Car Show.  We will leave the Tim Horton's across from the McEwan Airfield at 9:30 a.m.

On September 23 Roger will be meeting up with 5 cars from away at Young's Cove and escorting them to Hopewell Cape.  Club members are invited to participate in this event as well.

On September 26,  there will be a Car Show at Clarke's Chev. in Fredericton marking their 100th Anniversary. 

Our President's Run will be held on Saturday, October 24, leaving the Irving in Dieppe at 9:30 a.m. for the North Shore of Nova Scotia.  Please RSVP to Roger by October 16.

Roger has asked for money for a $25 gas card to be drawn for at the President's Run as well as money for two $25 Restaurant Gift Certificates.

Next year being our 25th Anniversary, Roger is looking into possible engraving of beer mugs.  The cost of engraving alone is $3.80 per mug. 

We have the fall and winter schedule for the Knights of Columbus breakfasts.  Keep watch for e-mails on upcoming possible dates, October 18, November 15, December 20.

50/50 Draw

Ed won $13 in the 50/50 draw which he generously donated back to the Club.  Thanks Ed.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
