Greater Moncton Corvette Club
Minutes of October 5, 2015

The regular monthly meeting of the Greater Moncton Corvette Club was held at 7:00p.m. on October 5 in the Lounsbury Meeting Room with the following members present:  Roger and Angie Bourgeois, Don MacAulay, Charles Gould, Gary Gaskin, Trueman Copp, Roger and Leontine Boudreau, Dave and Louise Fyffe, Paul Dunn, Doug MacDonald, Dwight and Libby Rayworth, Wornick Price, Ed and Kim Slade, Vic LeBlanc, Ed LeBlanc, and Steve White.

Roger presented Pat Laster representing our Charity the Autism Resource Centre with a cheque for $2,000.  He also presented them with a cheque from the Atlantic Nationals. 

Old Business

Roger confirmed that we will try and incorporate into or schedulesome of the events Bobby Steeves is planning for the Steeves Family Event in 2016.

A few of our members participated in the Car Show at the Casino.

Three cars from the Club attended the Car Show in St. Antoine on September 20.

Fourteen cars attended the Clarks Car Show in Sussex.

On September 23 Roger and Angie and a few other members of the club met up with 2 cars from Ontario and 2 from the U.S. (who were touring our area) at Young 's Cove and travelled with them to Alma, Cape Enrage, the Rocks in Hoewell Cape and had supper with them in Alma.  The following day they also toured Bore Park, Doug MacDonald's Corvettes, Magnetic Hill, had Poutine in Dieppe, had lunch at L'Aboiteau, toured Pointe de Chene, saw the Big Lobster in Shediac, toured the grounds at Fort Beausejour, the Nova Scotia Tourism Information Bureau, stopped in Masstown and had supper in Truro. 

Roger met them again at Cape Jourimain on their return trip home.  Roger thanked those who participated in helping with their visit.

A good number of cars attended the Clarks Show in Fredericton.  Bad roads were encountered on the way up causing many of our cars to receive chips.

Ten cars participated in Rhys' Run.

On October 10 there will be run to Hamption with cars leaving McDonald's Magnetic Hill at 9:00 a.m.

Trueman will have his Alma Lobster Run on October 17 with cars leaving Riverview Mall at 9:30 a.m.

The President's Run will take place on October 24.  It will be a run to Fox Harbor where we will eat our lunch there in a restaurant on site.  Please let Roger know if you will be attending if you have not done so already.

On October 30 there will be a car show at Hampton Middle School.

A Committee has been set up to discuss the Greater Moncton Corvette Club 25th Anniversary and what sort of items we may require.  Those on the Committee to date are Wornick, Charlie and Steve White.

The Atlantic Nationals date for 2016 is July 7 – 10.

Roger talked about a possible trip being planned to Windsor, Ontario in late May or early June next year.

The Atlantic Corvette Meeting will be held on November 14, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lounsbury meeting Room.  Anyone can attend this meeting but only Club Executive are allowed to participate in the meeting.

There was talk of a possible Cystic Fibrosis event at our Lounsbury Car Show in the Spring of 2016.

Financial Report

Wornick presented the Financial Report.  Our balance to date is $---------. 

Motion:  It was moved by Doug, seconded by Dave that the Financial Report be accepted.  Carried.

50/50 Draw

Charlie won $19 in the 50/50 draw.
