It was a busy 5 days as Corvettes from Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, PEI, Newfoundland and Labrador and Maine joined the GMCC at our 25th anniversary Show and Shine and various events leading up to the show itself.  On Wednesday, visitors from Newfoundland were taken on a drive to Alma to view the fishing boats and enjoy lunch on the patio of a local restaurant.  On Thursday the same group went to see the giant lobster in Shediac and then drove up the Northumberland coast.  On Friday, 24 Corvettes drove to L'Abouteau beach for lunch at the Restaurant de la Dune and then stopped to see the collection of Michel LeBlanc on the way home.  This has become an annual event on our calendar because Michel is constantly adding to his collection - there's always something new to see.

Saturday was the first day of the Nationals in Centennial Park and the day of our 25th anniversary Show and Shine.  The weather was overcast and cool, ideal weather for the show and so the turnout was large - we counted 105 Corvettes in our display area.  The crowd of spectators seemed bigger than usual as they enjoyed viewing the Corvettes on display.  As usual, the Autism Resource Centre, our charity, set up a barbecue and had a busy day with long lineups which should generate significant revenue for this worthy cause.  Voting took place during the show and the winners were as follows:

C1 - Don MacAulay
C2 - Brian & Debbie Palmer
C3 - Darren Hubbard
C4 - Wornick Price
C5 Coupe - Vernon Patriquin
C5 Convertible - Chanel Michaud
C6 Coupe - Paul Dunn
C6 Convertible - Troy Wallace
C6 Z06, ZR1, GS - Roger Gallant
C7 Coupe - Roger Cormier
C7 Convertible - Doug MacDonald
C7 Z06 - Ken Cameron
Club Participation - Nova Scotia Corvette Club
People's Choice - Roger Cormier
President's Choice - Sandy Haars, Wasaga Beach, Ontario

Following the awards presentation, many of the participants went to Jean's Restaurant for a group dinner and an auction of several items to raise more money for the Autism Rescue Centre.

Sunday was another cool, overcast day and as a result, the crowds were smaller and there were fewer cars on display.  At the Atlantic Nationals awards presentation, one of our guests from Newfoundland & Labrador, Harry Bartlett,  won a Miller welding station and one of our members, Don MacAulay, won a Miller welder, both very nice prizes.

In spite of the dreary weather, it was a great event with many fond memories.  Soon the planning will begin to make our 26th anniversary show even better.

More pictures and photos of the award presentations.  Vernon Patriquin was not present at the time and Angie Bourgeois accepted on behalf of Roger Gallant.
