Approximately 20 cars from GMCC and the Nova Scotia club gathered at the Irving Big Stop in Aulac, NB for a 9:00 am departure for the Centennial Bridge and PEI for one of the most popular events of every year.  Although the weather forecast leading up to the weekend had been calling for overcast and rainy weather all weekend, Saturday turned out to be a beautiful warm, sunny day, perfect for a drive around beautiful Prince Edward Island.  Driving across the Centennial Bridge in a Corvette is like driving through a long trench because the car is too low to see over the concrete barriers along each side of the roadway - not a comfortable feeling for those of us who have claustrophobic tendencies!  On the PEI side of the bridge we were met at the welcome centre by a group of Corvettes from the Island and New Brunswick that had already gathered there.  After a drivers' meeting conducted by Kingsley Lewis of the PEICC about 40 cars set out for a leisurely drive along the back country roads in the central part of the province, stopping at a restaurant in New London for lunch on the patio.  After lunch, we drove along the north shore through the tourist area around Cavendish and on to Charlottetown to check into our motel and prepare for the evening barbecue and chinese auction put together by the host PEICC where a great time was had by all.

Sunday turned out to be a cool, rainy day and even so, almost 40 cars were registered and displayed at the show located at the local Action car and Truck Accessory store.  In view of the weather, the host club decided to end it early and when the awards were handed out, 3 GMCC members were winners:

Best C2 - Brian & Debbie Palmer
Best C7 - Roger & Jeanne Cormier

A special award was presented by Action Car & Truck in memory of Gerry Warren, a GMCC member who recently lost his battle with cancer and this was awarded to the car chosen as the best in show by the staff of Action.  The winning car was the C6 Calloway owned by Roger & Geraldine Gallant.

After the awards were presented, some folks went to a restaurant for a farewell lunch while others travelled straight home.  As always, it was a terrific weekend in spite of the rainy Sunday.
