Seventeen Corvettes and an Audi travelled to the village of St Martins today for our annual tour of the Fundy Trail Parkway which is still under construction but getting ever nearer to completion.  Our first stop was at The Caves Restaurant located right on the Bay of Fundy beach.  After a very good lunch, Greg Turner, our Audi driver, took over as our guide and local historian for our drive along the Parkway.  Every year it gets extended further than the previous year and this was no exception as our drive took us to the current terminus at Long Beach.  The drive along the Parkway is breathtaking with many steep climbs and descents and hairpin curves, all along the cliffs that form the Fundy shore - this is a very exciting drive for anyone with a fear of heights!  The Long Beach lookout and picnic area was busy with live music and a Labour Day crowd.  Greg advised us that the construction to Fundy National Park will be completed next year and it will be opened to the public in the Spring of 2018 at which time it will be possible to travel from Saint John to Moncton along the Fundy coast, a drive that will rival (and in the opinion of many, surpass) the Cabot Trail.

We returned to St Martins from Long Beach for an ice cream stop and then retraced our route back home to Moncton.  Thanks to Greg Turner for being our guide and educator.
