GMCC Monthly Meeting Minutes - October 3, 2016

Present: Roger and Angie Bourgeois, Paul Dunn, Dave and Louise Fyffe, Gary Gaskin, Charles Gould, Ed LeBlanc, Don MacAuley, Wornick Price, Dwight and Libby Rayworth, Steve and Marilyn Whalen, Ken Cameron, and Chanel Michaud.

The regular monthly meeting was called to order by the president, Roger Bourgeois, with 16 members present.  All were welcomed.

The president reported on recent activities:
...Sussex Balloon Fest had 8-10 cars with a slightly better venue than past years
...St Antoine Car Show was held in the rain in a field.  A road trip may be an alternative to this event next year
...Oak Island event was very successful and a lot of fun.  Thanks to Debbie and Brian Palmer for organizing the island tour and to Marilyn and Steve Whalen for arranging all the details of the trip including the time at Mahone Bay wharf where we had 17-18 cars.  Gas card was won by Bertrand Drapeau.  New members — Marc and Sharon Willett —  attended this event
...Ryes Run was well attended with a total of 140 paid cars.  Roger led the pack on this run!

Minutes of the September meeting were read and accepted with the correction of the Christmas party date to December 17th.

President Roger will attend the Annual General Meeting of Autism Support where our club is to be acknowledged as its #1 fund raiser and he will present our previously approved cheque at that time.  The Atlantic Nationals contribution to this amount has not yet been remitted.

New Business:
a) Upcoming events
...Lobster Run - Oct 16th- to Collins in Alma and on to the snowmobile club for the meal – 9:30 AM at Point Park Petro Can
...Fox Harb'r – meeting at Dieppe Irving at 10 AM.  Fifty are now registered and it will be opened on Oct. 10th to NS clubs and beyond
...October 29th - Atlantic Corvette Meeting where the executive speaks on behalf of each club
...October 28th - Hampton Middle School car show from 12:30 to 2:30 PM - leaving from MacDonald's at 11 AM
b) Letter from Maritime Hall of fame Museum concerning newsletter subscriptions at $35 and the seven year anniversary ceremony on November 19th.
c) Our current membership is at 92 which is the highest number to date
d) Breakfast gatherings will begin on October 16th
e) Roger is taking orders for blue hats
f) Members looked over pen samples for promotion purposes
g) Christmas party — special dietary needs can be accommodated if necessary

Adjournment was called at 8 PM.

50/50 draw was won by Libby Rayworth for $14.
