June 2, 3 & 4, 2017 - Bar Harbor

Seven cars left Moncton early on Friday morning headed to the US for the 40th anniversary Vettes of Coastal Maine weekend event in beautiful Bar Harbor, Maine.  The morning was overcast and a few raindrops were falling when we left.  On the drive to the border, we drove through a couple of very brief sprinkles but after we cleared customs and stopped for fuel in Calais, ME the sun was shining and jackets and sweaters were shed in favour of lighter wear.  We continued on to Ellsworth and lunch at Denny's where the food was good and the servings were huge and then on to Bar Harbor to check in and get organized at the motel.  Some folks joined a drive up Cadillac Mountain to enjoy the views before the evening meet and greet event.
The car show took place on Saturday morning on an athletic field in Bar Harbor and more than 125 cars were on display.  At the conclusion of the show at noon, a group cruise took place to Northeast Harbor with 76 cars participating - because of great organization and the kindness of the civilian traffic, we were able to keep the caravan together for the entire drive along the coast.  The scenery was spectacular.  We all parked at the Mount Desert Harbor Master parking lot in Northeast Harbor for a group photograph and then folks went their own way to return to Bar Harbor for the banquet buffet that evening.
Sunday is the travel home day after a great weekend with fellow Corvetters from all over the northeast.
