On Friday, July 14th, 18 Corvettes departed from Moncton to begin the journey to Yarmouth, NS where this year's Maritime Meet is being held in conjunction with the huge Seafest Car Show.  We travelled on a combination of highway and secondary roads to the Grand Pre historic site where we stopped and browsed the exhibits, watched a film and expanded our knowledge of the early French settlements in the Maritimes and the subsequent expulsion of the Acadians by the British.  Following our visit, we ate lunch at a local restaurant and then drove to the Luckett Winery where it was so busy that we could only drive through the parking lot and get back on the road to check in at our hotel for the night - the Old Orchard Inn in Wolfville.  Following checkin, some in the group drove to a nearby scenic lookout for picture taking opportunities and then on to a very quaint fishing village.  A group dinner was enjoyed at the Old Orchard - great food.

On Saturday morning we were on the road at 8:00 am in order to get to Yarmouth in time to set up for the show and get ready for the boat cruise that had been arranged by GMCC member Ivan Hines, also on the executive of the Nova Scotia club..  After parking and cleaning the cars, we boarded the boats and sailed out for a "three hour cruise".  Fortunately, we were not aboard the Minnow and no-one was lost but we did enjoy an excellent cruise in near perfect weather and even got to haul a lobster trap along the way.

The awards were presented as soon as we landed back in Yarmouth and then we scattered to our various motels to freshen up and then head for dinner.  Some went to the Boston Pizza and some went to The Rudder and everyone had a terrific evening.

Sunday was the day to return home to Moncton after a very nice weekend.  Thanks to Matt Meade,  Ivan Hines and the CCNS for organizing the show and boat cruise and thanks to our own Dave Gates for organizing and leading our drive from Moncton to Yarmouth.
