Events' Report for August Meeting 2017:

1)   ATLANTIC NATIONALS were a great success. 
a) Wednesday started at the Action Car Truck show with over 400 cars attending.  We met our out-of-town Corvette guests at two hotels to set up Thursday's meeting for the run to Shediac and Buctouche. 
b) Thursday was a good run to Buctouche using back roads.  We apologize for the chapel dirt road but we were able to have a guided tour of the Irving Chapel and its history, then a good meal at Pizza Delight.  Service and food are always good at this spot.  We returned to Moncton through the back roads and went to the Wesleyan Church to pick up our National packages. 
c) On Friday we set out working at the Nationals, then on to Abiteau Restaurant a la Dune.  We had major problems with communication as we were losing cars due to high traffic and construction.  Lots had no radios or didn't talk on the radio.  The lead car has to know how the back is doing so remember to both listen and talk during the run.  We toured Main Street that night with our new members from Windsor, Ont. --- Dann and Doris Willis --- and friends from Mass. --- Ron and Andrea Morneau.
d) Saturday set up was early with 102 cars plus more Vettes nearby.  Some had friends with other makes.  We had supper at the new Swiss Chalet in Dieppe where  we had about 60 people and raised nearly $500 for charity.
e) Sunday's field had over 60 Corvettes along with other makes.  A big thank you goes to those that gave prizes.  Some were personal donations and others came from our major sponsors:
   Lounsbury's, Slipp's Transmissions, Gary Steeves Insurance, Atlantic Air Cooled Engines, Cameron's Restaurant Supplies, Les Pneus Goguen Tire, Riverview Truck Repair, Action Car and Truck Accessories, Alpha Appliance Solutions, MacDonald Corvette, Mr. Lube, Moland Corvettes, UNI, Comfort Homes, Corvette Depot, Corvette Central and any others that may have been left out.  Please support our sponsors by buying their products.
   Break down of those cars attending: 40 GMCC, 4 RVV, 5 PEI, 1 US, 10 NS, 7 SJ, 8 Ont, 12 no clubs and a few others that didn't register.
f) Special thanks to all the volunteers that helped put on this great show ---- Angie Bourgeois for shirts and registration, Charles Gould for prize set up, Don MacAuley, Roger Gallant, Paul Dunn for photos and parking, Dave Gates and Paul and Monique Girouard for waiting patiently for late comers, Chanel Michaud, Wornick Price, Libby Rayworth, Steve Whalen and others I may have missed in this busiest time of the year.     


2)   NOVA SCOTIA TRIP
   On July 19th we left Moncton with 17 cars and picked one up in Amherst, then on to Wolfville for a tour of the area with Dave and Sharon Gates.  After touring the museum we ate lunch and visited the Pete Luckett winery.  Due to the large crowd already there, we admired the view and moved on to the Look-Off for a spectacular view of the valley.  We then proceeded to the wharf at the other end of the mountain and then on to the hotel. After the group supper we washed the cars for the next day.
   Arriving in Yarmouth, we missed one side street but managed to find the Vette show after driving down Main Street.  Ivan and Amanda had organized a boat tour and we had a great time although we didn't spend much time at the show the trip was very worthwhile.  In the evening the boats were lit with Christmas lights and fireworks.  There were thousands on the wharf.
   On Sunday we split into three groups for the trip home.

3)   ST. MARTIN'S SHOW
      Corvettes had their own field and the show was OK.  There were bad roads coming in as constructons crews had rippd the road up on Thursday.  Tripp back was via Saint John airport. Eight to ten cars attended.

4)   CHATHAM DRAG RACES
      Two members attended

5)   MEMRAMCOOK CAR SHOW
      Rained out on Sunday and held on Monday

6)   NEWFOUNDLAND TRIP
