Fourteen Corvettes left Moncton on a sunny but cool and windy day, headed for Kouchibouguac National Park and the Northumberland coast.  We followed Highway 11 north until we reached the Park and then followed Route 117, the Acadian Coastal Drive, through the park and on to Pointe-Sapan where we parked on the wharf for a break and a photo opportunity.  We continued north from here to Escuminac where we parked at a local picnic and camp ground for our picnic lunch.  After lunch, we explored the walkway to the beach and a lookout with a terrific view of the coast and the Escuminac Wharf.  We then drove the short distance to the wharf and visited the memorial to those fishermen lost in the 1959 Escuminac disaster.  We continued north on Route 117 to Miramichi where an ice cream stop was in order and then drove south on Route 126 home to Moncton.
