Although 18 club members confirmed an interest, we started the tour with 11 Corvettes.  The happy travellers were pleased with the prospect of a sunny day because yesterday our skies were filled with smoke from forest fires to our West.  We could even head out with tops off/down.  After a quick stop in Quispamsis, we headed to the Carleton-Martello Tower museum.  The tower itself was closed for renovations, but we had a very interesting parks employee show us a film about the history of the area and tower (construction, battles, etc.), viewed the artifacts on display within the museum.  Then we took foot paths around for a beautiful view of the Saint John harbour.
A Corvette owner, familiar with Saint John, lead us to our Reversing Falls lunch.  They sat us in an oval shaped room with large windows overlooking the river.  Food was excellent and the atmosphere was relaxing.
Back in the vettes, across the Harbour Bridge and off on a informative/guided tour of Pocologan, to a stop area where we could see the Point Lepreau Generating Station in the distance, then to Lepreau Falls (which reminded some of the Pabineau Falls near Bathurst), through Lepreau Village, Maces Bay to Dipper Harbour wharf where we took a few minutes to enjoy the view of the fishing boats, gear and shops.  From Dipper Harbour the route followed the coastline through Chance Harbour and then back to our final tour spot at Highway 1's Tourist Bureau, near Route 7, where 3 vettes left us as they were closer to home from here.  As we were approaching suppertime when we neared the Salisbury Big Stop, 3 vettes finished the day's run with another meal.
It was a beautiful day, especially in Saint John, where even the Parks Canada employees said we picked a rare, sunny day without fog to obstruct our views.   Thank you to everyone who made the trip, we hope it was as enjoyable for you as it was for us.  It would not have been the same without your company and colorful Vettes.  Angie & Roger
