Lounsbury Meeting Room - 7 PM

Present: Roger and Angie Bourgeois, Dave and Louise Fyffe, Gary Gaskin, Charles Gould, Ed LeBlanc, Don and Debbie MacAulay, Wornick Price, Dwight and Libby Rayworth, Victor LeBlanc, Paul and Monique Girouard, Rick and Helen Estabrooks, DonBarrett, Eric LeBlanc, Wayne Coster, and Jim and Claudine Sullivan (22)

The first regular meeting of the 2019 season was called to order by the president who welcomed all those in attendance.  Roger thanked all the members who had worked together to produce an interesting and successful 2018 season including the executive members who have volunteered to act for the coming season.

Minutes of the December 2018 meeting were accepted as read

Continuing/Old Business:
a) We were happy to welcome Cindy Wilcox to both our December meeting and ourannual Christmas party.  It was noted that our election of officers did not follow a formal procedure.  For the last 27 years the executive has served on the basis of volunteers offering for the positions rather than from a formal election format.  Despite this informality our club is the envy of many others based on the number of member families and the smooth running of our operations.  The president’s preference would be to have a more robust nomination and election process but for the smooth transition from year to year this volunteer format seems to be working well.
b) The new executive for 2019 will be President – Roger Bourgeois; Vice-President – Angie Bourgeois; Events Co-Chairs – Angie Bourgeois and Paul Dunn; Treasurer – Wornick Price; Secretary – Louise Fyffe; and Communications – PaulDunn.  All members are thanked for serving in these roles and the membership is encouraged to help in whatever way is required in the year ahead.
c) The Christmas party was a great success socially and financially.  Thanks to Angie for organizing the meal and the hall items, to the Fyffe’s for support at the entrance table and the draw set ups, and to Paul Dunn for his excellent 2018 slide show.  Michel LeBlanc and his staff presented an excellent meal as usual.  Due to excellent prize support from our members and friends we raised $1,045 to be donated to a charity or charities of our choice to be decided at this meeting.
