Greater Moncton Corvette Club
January 6, 2020
Lounsbury Meeting Room – 7pm
Present : Roger and Angela Bourgeois, Steve Whalen, Don MacAulay, Rick and Helen Estabrooks, Ed LeBlanc, Wornick Price, Paul and Monique Girouard, Margaret Mayes and Trueman Copp, Bob Cormier and Melissa Bourque, Vic LeBlanc, Dave and Louise Fyffe, Gary Gaskin, Betty Mae Madden, JM Thibodeau (20).

The meeting was called to order by the president who welcomed the 20 members present to the first meeting of 2020.  He and other members of the executive and officers wished all members great health and hopes for a wonderful corvette season. He thanked Louise Fyffe for her work as secretary for the past few years.

Minutes of the December meeting were accepted as read.

Old/Continuing Business:   

A) Election/nominations has concluded and a thank you was given by the president for those that have stepped up and accepted positions within the club.  He advised that we can take pride with the club and are the envy of other clubs around the country.  At this time the Vice president position would remain vacant until a volunteer came forward,  Bob Cormier volunteered to accept this position and was appointed as such.

B) Christmas party was a total success, thanks to everyone who helped in any way at the party. Linda Gauvin, Jeanine Scott and Louise Fyffe who greeted the guests at the door.  Tim Scott with the good music.  Bob and Melissa Cormier for the wonderful slide and video show.  Gina and Chris Harlow and Libby Rayworth for the silent auction.  Ed LeBlanc for the hall rental information and using his connections for the rental cost and food as always was good.  Angie for rental, meal reservations, and overall organizing of the fun event.  President advised that the meal and evening was lots of fun for himself and Angie and he hoped that all members had as much fun as they did.  Due to the generosity of the members and sponsors the event raised $215.00 from the Chinese auction and $995.00 from the silent auction for a total of $1250.00.  This amount to be divided between charities under new business.   

Financial Report:

The treasurer reported the current bank balance as $xx with expenditures of $101.25 and income of $2321.21.  $120.00 in dues obtained at this meeting.  Motion to accept moved by Wornick Price 
Seconded by JM Thibodeau

Bills for payment presented by Angie and Wornick in the amount of $138.07.  Motion to accept moved by Louise Fyffe and seconded by JM Thibodeau.

New Business:

A) Breakfast at the Knights of Columbus is Jan 19, 2020 an events calendar meeting is scheduled for 10 am after the breakfast, all welcome to attend especially those that wish to organize an event for the coming year, any day trips or weekend events or any other please send the information or come to the planning meeting.  It is important to realize the result of this meeting will be a draft of the schedule for the coming year, the schedule can and will change but some events are firm (dates of events from other clubs).  Draft to be brought back to the next monthly meeting.

B) Following breakfast for Feb 16 at KofC

C) Members encouraged to read NAACCC newsletter on line, important date to remember July 12 international collector car appreciation day across Canada and USA.  Suggestion made by President to increase membership dues to this organization from our club to 20 members, with officers and executive included first.  Moved by Angela Bourgeois that membership dues to NAACCC in the amount of $5.00 per vehicle be increased to 20 vehicles for this year, with officers and executive included first then to those who attend events more often.  Seconded by Gary Gaskin.  After discussion and explanation of coverage motion approved.

D) Discussion around CCCC membership dues ensued.  An explanation of how the due amount from each club provided by the president.  Motion moved by JM Thibodeau that we increase dues to cover 30 cars, total amount $600.00

E) Trip to Kingston, Ontario Corvette Invasion June 18/19 weekend, hotel approx $129/nite plus taxes (Ramada Inn) Registration $90- $235 couple depending on banquet see Eastern Ontario Corvette web page under Corvette invasion.  Please let president know by Jan 19 planning meeting if you plan to attend so that rooms can be booked asap.  See intenary from President. 

F) Letter of thanks received from Miss Teen Atlantic, club was mentioned as a sponsor, and plaque for the clubs participation in their event, president offered to any member wanting for their garage

G) Bar Harbor information May 29 – 31 deadline to apply Feb 1,2020  e mail will be resent by Bob Cormier

H) After much discussion regarding the disbursement of the funds collected at the Christmas Party motion made by Ed LeBlanc $400.00 each to Knights of Columbus breakfast program, SPCA and YWCA.

50/50 in the amount of $14.00 won by Don MacAulay
